Gift Of The Earth: Pink Pepper

pink pepper

One of my greatest prayers was that we would have pink pepper available, one day. I'm always on the prowl for new essential oils and I literally squealed with delight when doTERRA announced that this beautiful oil was going to be part of the Harmony Collection- a specially curated trio for Mothers' Day.

Pink pepper is steam distilled from the fruit and is described as spicy, fruity and slightly woody. It reminds me of green mangoes with chilli that is really yummy. Everyone who has smelt this oil agrees with me and many of us have such fond childhood memories of eating mangoes by the roadside.

I have experienced it as a soft, deeply healing and engulfing oil. In fact, I think if it had a gender it would be a lady.

The “molle,” or pink peppercorn tree, was considered a sacred tree to ancient Incans. Indigenous populations used all parts of the tree, including the pink peppercorn fruit, as herbal solutions to health needs.

Pink Pepper may also help the body maintain healthy cellular function and overall cellular health.* Limonene and α-Phellandrene, two of the main chemical components of Pink Pepper essential oil, may be calming to the nervous system.*

Some suggested uses include:

🍃Create a soothing massage by combining one to two drops with dōTERRA Fractionated Coconut Oil.

🍃Diffuse or inhale directly to promote feelings of alertness.

🍃May help promote healthy cellular immune function and response.*

Of late, I've been using pink pepper with:

🍃geranium, in my bath. I feel like this is an amazing and ultra feminine harmony that makes me feel really sensual. The scent is out of this world and they seem to balance out each other perfectly.

🍃lavender, also in my bath. Bath times continue to remain one of my most sacred moments and adding oils to support speaking my truth and gentleness and softness feels like a good way to unwind from the day.

🍃 my smoothies, water and sometimes my herbal tea concoctions. I just dip a toothpick in and out of the bottle and into my drink.

Blending it with citrus or floral oils does create an invigorating aroma. This is definitely an oil I feel does a lot to amplify the glorious feminine essence and I am drawn towards blending it with clary sage, grapefruit, neroli and jasmine, among others.
