When I was gifted this by a beautiful team member from New Zealand, she left a note with it that said: ‘the Manuka tree is special among the Maori people.’ Manuka is described as rich, spicy and herbaceous and I find it to be deeply grounding.
The Manuka Flower
Leptospermum scoparium also commonly called mānuka, manuka myrtle, New Zealand tea tree or broom tea-tree is a species of flowering plant in the myrtle family Myrtaceae, native to Australia and New Zealand.
Apparently, Manuka is up to 13 times stronger than tea tree- which is saying a lot because melaleuca is already way up the essential oils ladder in my opinion. The oil can be used as an antibacterial and antifungal ointment, as well as to treat dry skin and existing scars.
Manuka has been revered by the Maoris of New Zealand for promoting healthy skin, mitigating insect bites, and helping calm the system before sleep.*
Energetically, manuka is known as The Oil of Being Upheld.** This powerful plant is here to remind you that you are known, loved, and cared for. It soothes emotional and energetic wounds, helps foster creativity, and invites you to access higher realms of learning, growing and listening. Manuka essential oil feels right at home with the likes of frankinsense, myrrh and Melissa.
I feel that it’s a super special oil so I’ve only used it sparingly.
Of late, though my interest has been renewed and I’ve used it with:
🍃tea tree and eucalyptus in a spritz bottle to freshen the air. I feel so joyful after spraying around my space. I feel like it’s a beautiful harmony and I can’t wait to diffuse it.
🍃Peace touch on my wrist and gently kissed it with Manuka and wore it as a #purefume to help me feel calm and grounded
🍃a kiss of tea tree and a roll of jasmine. Jasmine and tea tree is one of my fav combinations and adding Manuka seems to amplify it.
Other ways of using it, and which I loved these ideas from Vanessa Jean include:
: With doTERRA's emotional aromatherapy oils- roll the pre-diluted touch oils with a kiss of manuka or diffuse the actual oils with a drop of manuka oil added
: Blending it with the softer feminine oils like geranium, pink pepper, clary sage, rose and jasmine
: Diffuse this blend of 1 drop manuka with 1 drop of spearmint and 1 drop of frankincense to help you blast through the demands of the ego
There's still time to get your hands on a FREE 10 ml roller touch of manuka essential oil.
